This is a very concerning issue. As I see it, in the long-term it's not only an issue with economic implications. It also concerns our national security. Food, like energy is a basic need that we must be able to control. Not having that ability exposes us to political pressures from the global community, and as we have seen in recent years, globalized markets doen't always work in the best interest of local economies. What happens, when the fruit imports from South America, California and Asia are interupted?

My concern grow seach time another Big Box retail centre is dropped onto once productive southern Ontario farmland.
