About Me
Mike Schreiner is a food policy and business development consultant. He is an award winning social entrepreneur who has founded a number of local food businesses, and was the co-founder of Local Food Plus. LFP is an award winning non-profit organization that promotes local sustainable food systems and educates the public and policy makers on the benefits of local sustainable food and farming.

Mike currently serves as the Policy Coordinator for the Green Party of Ontario and was Co-chair of the GPO’s 2007 Election Platform. He ran as a candidate for the Green Party in the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock by-election. Mike currently serves on the Steering Committee of Green Enterprise Toronto, a green business association with over 350 members, and on the Board of FarmStart, a non-profit organization that assist new farmers. Mike grew up on a conventional grain and livestock farm. He is a frequent speaker on issues that include food security, agriculture and food policy, local sustainable food systems and economies.
