About Me
• In addition to his role as Academic Director of the Martin Prosperity Institute, Prof. Florida is professor of Business and Creativity at the Rotman School. He is the founder of the Creative Class Group, a global think tank based in Washington, DC.
• Prior to joining the Rotman School he was the Hirst Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University and a senior scientist with the Gallup Organization.
• Prof. Florida taught for nearly two decades at Carnegie Mellon University and has been a visiting professor at MIT and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
• He earned his bachelor’s from Rutgers College and his Ph.D. from Columbia University.
• His books include three best sellers: The Rise of the Creative Class (Basic Books, 2002), The Flight of the Creative Class (Harper Collins, 2005) and Who’s Your City (Basic Books, 2008).

• Florida is a regular columnist for the Globe and Mail and has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Economist, The Harvard Business Review, and The Atlantic Monthly.
