Dr. Greg Baeker - Putting Culture On The Map - Part 2

Dr. Greg Baeker

Putting Culture On The Map

Is cultural mapping just a theory, or does it actually work in practice? Are cities at risk if they don't highlight their cultural assets? Is there a local economic argument to be made for government support of the arts?

Greg Baeker is Canada's leading expert in integrated cultural strategies for cities. Greg's leadership in the field is built on 25 years of experience in senior leadership positions in the cultural field in Canada as a cultural planner, policy maker, cultural manager and researcher.

He is a gifted facilitator who works effectively in both large and small communities and in bridging leading ideas with on-the-ground practice and results.

Recent work includes helping to launch the Ontario Municipal Cultural Planning Partnership, a coalition of government agencies, municipalities and cultural groups working to promote municipal cultural planning across the province. He has the only PhD in Canada in cultural and urban planning.
