Dr. Sylvia Bashevkin is the principal of University College at the University of Toronto and a professor of political science. Best known for her research contributions in the field of women and politics, Bashevkin is the past President of the Canadian Political Science Association and also served as President of the Women and Politics Research Section of the American Political Science Association.

A prolific author, Bashevkin is the author of several books, including her latest, Women, Power, Politics: The Hidden Story of Canada's Unfinished Democracy.
