Jim Harris
Former Leader, Green Party Of Canada
Is the green craze just a passing fad? Are businesses at risk if they don't go green? Should government have a role in helping people and organizations live green?
Jim Harris served as leader of the Green Party of Canada from 2003-2006 and is one of North America’s foremost thinkers on change and leadership speaking internationally on the issues of most concern to executives: leadership, change and how going green delivers bottom line benefit. Association magazine ranked him as one of the North America’s top speakers.
Jim’s national weekly column in the National Post focuses on how energy efficiency is the best thing ever for the corporate bottom line. And Jim’s new book, A Crisis is a Terrible Thing to Waste, which will be published in 2010, will build upon the column presenting more than 100 case studies. Wal-Mart, for instance, is spending $500 million on sustainability projects that have a four year payback or less. To get the same bottom line benefit the company would have to drive $16.7 billion of additional sales.
Jim’s third book, Blindsided, is published in 80 countries worldwide and is a #1 international bestseller.
