John Tory
Radio Personality, Former Leader, Ontario PC Party
Are the partisan politics so common today still relevant? Or are the harming the democratic process?
John Tory served as leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party from 2004-2009. A longtime conservative activist and volunteer, Tory has held several roles including Principal Secretary to former Ontario Premier Bill Davis, Special Advisor to the Office of the Canadian Special Envoy on Acid Rain and Federal Campaign Director for the PC Party of Canada in 1993.
From 1995-1999, Tory served as President and CEO of Rogers Media and later, Rogers Cable. Tory also served as Commissioner of the Canadian Football League from 1996-2000, restoring the league to financial health.
Tory placed a close second in Toronto's 2003 mayoralty race - and may be looking to reprise this role in 2010.
He currently hosts The Live Drive with John Tory on Toronto's highest-rated radio station, Newstalk 1010.
